WATER COOLER TALK
There’s so much to love about spring in Madison. May is my favorite month because of the nice weather and everything is in bloom throughout town. As May progresses, I ring in the “unofficial start of summer” in the most Wisconsinite way possible: Brat Fest. This festival features high quality brats, beer, ice cream, along with plenty of music and fun for the whole family. While there are many hours spent planning the event, it’s something I look forward to every year. Below are my three favorite things about Brat Fest.
With National BBQ Month in full swing, we can’t help but feel like summer’s so close we can almost taste it. As we sit in our offices with the thought of sunshine, pool parties, and barbecues running through our minds, we decided there’s no better time than now to plan for your summer office party. See below for some of our favorite party supplies that will guarantee you a true taste of summer.
Summertime in Madison is the best time to be here! Personally, Gary and I celebrate our anniversary in July, and both of our birthdays in August, making it our favorite time of year. There’s also something for everyone going on throughout downtown. Here are some of our staff’s picks for the best things to do during the summer.
Where would you be without your administrative professional? Administrative Professional Week falls in the third week of April, and honors those who hold the glue of your office together. This year, Administrative Professionals Day falls on Wednesday, April 26. This day honors secretaries, office coordinators, administrative assistants, office managers, and others who serve in roles similar to these.
How much of an environmental impact does your office leave? Going green not only saves the environment, but can also improve the perception of your business. A case study conducted by Triple Pundit showed that Honda’s sales improved by 28 percent after they were able to implement a green initiative for their vehicles. No matter what you sell, here are some tips on how to become an eco-friendly office.
Over the past couple of years, businesses have been inquiring more about eco-friendly cleaning supplies to maintain their LEED status, or to simply lower their carbon footprint. According to the EPA, indoor air pollution is one of the most important environmental health problems we face. By using eco-friendly cleaning products, you can keep your office clean, while still staying committed to sustainability.
When you support a locally owned business, you’re also supporting the local economy, and help us participate in charitable causes. The Dane County Deputy Sheriff’s Association will host their eighth annual charity basketball game against the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday, April 12. If you’ve never been before, this is a great event for the whole family. Here are more details on the game and what to expect.
As we say goodbye to winter and hello to spring, now is also a good time to say hello to a cleaner office. The start of spring is a great time to examine the areas of your office that could use a “deep clean.” We’ve compiled some of our favorite cleaning supplies to help you spring clean your office.
If you’re looking for a mid-afternoon snack, do you consider the healthiness of what you’re about to eat? According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, more than 34 percent of fatalities in the state are because of cardiovascular disease. A healthy diet is one of the best ways to prevent heart disease. March is National Nutrition Month, which encourages people of all ages to take a look at their eating habits and see where they can improve. If you’re feeling hungry, here are a few healthier options to some snacks you might currently eat.
Whether you’re 100 percent Irish, or don’t have an ounce of Irish in your blood, you can still celebrate all of the St. Patrick Day’s celebrations that Madison has to offer. There’s something for everyone, from parades to sampling traditional Irish fare. Here is our list of the top five St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Madison.
