More than ever, local businesses face unique challenges. EZ Office Products (EZOP) is always thinking about our future workforce in Dane County and why it is so important to our overall economic prosperity. This summer, we partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County (BGDC) and their mentoring program to participate in providing a meaningful professional experience. Meet Yee Lee, our 2017 summer intern. EZOP provided Yee with a multi-faceted experience — from understanding how we help customers, to distribution and the way in which we care for customer deliveries, to marketing and the importance of good graphics, and even going through the exercise of an executive briefing to our owners, Rose and Gary Molz. Here’s a little more about Yee and his work at EZOP this summer.

Meet Yee Lee
His Work at EZOP
Our aim for Yee was to have him learn and experience various aspects of the EZOP business model. Within our support/operations side, Yee learned how we interact with our customers over the phone, make deliveries, pick orders for delivery, and experience how critical it is to follow-up with customers. He learned how vendor purchase orders are received and then broken down and put away in correct bin locations.
What is the most interesting thing Yee tells us? “Interacting with customers over the phone and going through the operations process to prepare orders for next-day delivery were his favorite parts of his internship.”
Yee is a rising sophomore at Madison College. On campus, he’s involved with the school’s volleyball and badminton teams. The name “Yee” means “The Countryside,” which is befitting for him as he enjoys hiking in the countryside. He is also an avid elk hunter and fisherman. He also has a hidden talent for landscape design! His favorite book is Fallen Angels and enjoys winding down after a long day by watching Family Guy or listening to country music.
His favorite thing about living in Madison is how easy it is to make friends here. In the future, Lee hopes to re-connect with his family in Laos, his native country of Southeast Asia.
