I teach at Berlin McKinney Elementary. It is located in a small rural community . I feel that our staff is dedicated to the total child. We work as a team to find the best way to help each student develop to their full potential. As a school we ROCK!!!!!!!

Our Elementary Teachers at the Barneveld School are the best!! Each teacher has a true passion for their job and for the future of our kids. These teachers are not textbook teachers. They go the extra mile and often spend a great deal out of pocket to make our kids learning environments fun! Our teachers are not permitted to put “teacher supplies” on our Back-to-School shopping lists like most other schools. As parents, we only buy what our students need. We aren’t buying dry erase markers, tape, post it notes and Sharpie markers for our teachers use. We hope our school gets chosen so we can supply our teachers these necessary items so they don’t have to spend money out of their own pockets to maintain their excellence in education!!

It’s not just the elementary teachers at Barneveld – it’s the entire school. K-12 in one building – everyone just about knows everyone – and everything that can be used as resource or learning tool is used. As a graduate of BHS I know teachers go above and beyond to make sure the children get the best education they can. Additional supplies would help the “do more with less” mentality that so many schools are facing. This community rallies behind it’s school and its students. There are so many supplies that would make life easier – but they cost money. On average in WI – an elementary school teacher will purchase $300-500 of supplies from their own pocket. More if they are in the art or science fields. Every little bit will help – and that means that more students will have more resources and tools to LEARN!
